After Wednesdays match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, Messi has achieved one more record. He has lodged his name into another El Clasico record. He is now the player with most assists in the history of this eternal rivalry between the Catalans and the Madridistas.

As you know Barcelona overcame the barrier of Real Madrid in two matches. In the first match Messi wasn’t at his best but still made a great assist to Eric Abidal who managed to score a goal. Messi`s main plan was to fall little bit back so that Real Madrid defenders go up front too. As you know more than one defender are trying to cover Messi, so that makes free spaces for other Barcelona players.

The situation was almost same in the second match too, Messi made a great dribbling and more than two defenders tried to stop him – this created free space for Pedro as the Argentinian managed to give him a great assist.

Lionel Messi, who just got the third Ballon d’Or consecutively, is very productive player in El Clasicos, he is just 24 years old and has already got 13 goals and 10 assists.

Here is all 10 assists of Messi.

Barcelona Throphies

Barcelona is the champions of the world after winning 4-0 to FC Santos in YokohamaThe FIFA Club World Cup turned a very easy game for Catalan Club, they netted four times without any problems. Lionel Messi scored double while Cesc Fabregas and Xavi Hernandez scored their goals too.

The Argentine’s performance was brilliant in the final match. Besides those two goals that he scored, he played very well and his help in winning this game was huge. Before he scored, he already had a shot saved by goalkeeper Rafael.

Xavi, who played his 601th official game for Barcelona, brilliantly controlled the ball before he gave a superb pass to Messi, who by himself conjured up a cheeky chip over the goalkeeper and opened the score.

Xavi then scored a goal himself, after controlling a good pass from Daniel Alves on the first touch and shooting with his second touch.

The third goal was scored after a chaos in Santos box caused by Dani Alves’s cross. Fabregas got the rebound near the goal post and it was very easy for him to score, so he did.

Victor Valdes played very well too, he managed to save the team two times in the game, while he blocked two shots of Santos.
And finally Messi completed the rout in the 82nd minute when he was played through by an excellent pass from the Brazilian Alves. Despite the poor first touch he still managed to skip around the goalkeeper and sent the ball into an empty net.
At the end of the match Messi got a special award from Toyota as the man of the match. Also he managed to repeat the record of Pedro(2009) who scored at least one goal in all the competitions that he participated.

Messi-Barca

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell says that Argentine superstar Lionel Messi will not leave Camp Nou as long as he is in charge at the club.

Messi, who is said to be the best player in the world, made his debut for Barca in 2004 and has helped the Catalan side to countless honours since then.

A host of clubs would love to have the Argentina international in their teams, but Rosell is adamant Messi will remain with Barcelona.

“At Barcelona, there are many things that are not for sale at any price, and Messi is a person who is just that for us,” said Rosell.

“As long as I’m the president at Barcelona, and he does not want to leave, Leo will continue to be a Barca player. If it were up to me, he would never leave the club.”

Messi, who has pledged his future to Barca on numerous occasions, is under contract at the European champions until 2016. But for sure, he will remain at Barcelona even after 2016, because he already is a Catalan Legend.

Riquelme and Messi

Riquelme and Messi

The legend of Boca JuniorsRoman Riquelme thinks that it isn’t easy to “use” Lionel Messi effectively. Riquelme, who has played in Argentine and in Spain, may be considered as an expert.
“I think that the Spanish international team needs to have Messi in their squad. And the Argentine international team needs to know that it isn’t Barcelona and they can’t play like Catalans…”

“Argentine must learn how to use Messi correctly, because we have the World’s greatest player in team but we can’t find a good place for him to have complete freedom and play just like he does in Barca. This is catastrophe.”

“With this method of approach to this case, we will not gain any success.”

Today was a game between Colombia and Argentina that ended up with Argentina win 1-2. Finally Lionel Messi managed to score in the internationals…
An enterprising run from James earned a free-kick on the edge of the area, and Dorlan Pabon’s driven effort took a wicked deflection off Javier Mascherano to finish in the back of the net.

The equalizer came in the second half, right at the one hour mark.  Lionel Messi did well to open up the game in the Colombian final third, and after David Ospina spilled Jose Sosa‘s low cross Messi unexpectedly attacked and put the ball into the empty net.

It has been a while since Messi scored for Argentina and this was the main subject of critics towards Leo. In the World Cup Qualifying Messi has 2 goals and is on the fifth place in Top Scorers. Uruguay’s Suarez is on the first place with 5 goals.
In conclusion for Argentina he has 19 goals in 66 apps, but also has 20 assists.

Messi

Messi

Pep Guardiola’s 200th match in charge of Barcelona was celebrated with a 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in Prague this evening, as the European champions qualified for the knockout stages. Lionel Messi scored another hat-trick and he broke the 200-goal barrier.

As the game started in Prague, it was already clear that Barcelona would be in charge of it. They should have been given a penalty on the 12th minute after a foul on Cesc Fabregas, but the referee didn’t think so. But after 10 minutes Marian Cisovsky fouled on Lionel Messi in the box and he was sent off. Messi opened the score with nice shot from the penalty spot.

After the goal Barcelona kept attacking Plzen and they had some great moments. Messi could score his second but the keeper played well and made a good save. But later Messi scored the second goal of the game. He played a nice one-two with Adriano and got the return pass in the box, from where he took a shot and Pavlik, the keeper could do nothing.

In the second half Barca had some more moments.  Fabregas nearly added a third with a delicate chip that drifted just wide and Messi’s free-kick was saved by the keeper. Later Barca had a great chance to score again, on the counterattack Thiago Alacantara flicked a header over Pavlik but onto the crossbar.

Fabregas made it 3-0 on 71 minutes with a rare headed goal. It was difficult for Fabregas to miss such was the quality of Isaac Cuenca’s cross from the right-hand side. Messi then completed his hat-trick with a well taken finish after rounding Pavlik. Barca’s defender Gerard Pique made a great back-heel pass to Messi who scored his hat-trick.

From now on, in all competitions the Argentine genius has 22 goals and 11 assists in just 17 games.

The match finished 4-0 and this means that Barcelona has qualified to the knock-out stage even though they still have to play two group games. So now Guardiola can let players have rest during champions league games and let them concentrate on domestic league.

Leo Messi

Barcelona played against Sevilla on saturday night on Camp nou and the final score was 0-0. But on the dying minutes World star Lionel Messi had a great chance to get 3 points for Barca, instead of one…
The referee gave Barcelona  a penalty kick during the added time of the second half and of course Messi was the one to shoot it. But unfortunately for his and for Barcelona fans, his spot-kick was saved by the impressive Javi Varas, the keeper of Sevilla.
The whole match was very intensive and Barcelona was fighting for 3 point from the beggining till the end, so the missed penalty was very frustrating for them, especially for Messi, who looked far from happy as he left the pitch.
But the Argentine was given support by the home crowd, loudly shouting his name before the referee blew the final whistle. Guardiola also encouraged his player saying that Messi is fine, such a thing might happen to any player on the world and theres nothing to panic about.
Guardiola is right, because there is no great player who hasn’t missed the penalty. As it is saied – “every napoleon has his waterloo”…vDespite of this bad thing, Lionel Messi still stays at the top level and as we know, today there’s no greater player than him…
